ZHEROES PART 4: Nano-Natalia
CHAPTER 4: INGRID RETALIATION
The
large doors of the Chrome Tech facility doors crept open. Standing on
the outside of them, getting ravaged by the hard blizzard was Natalia
and Mickie; both with obvious battle scars. Standing on the other
side of the doors, with a scowl on his face was Arthur. Mickie smiled
and raised her hand that held up the jewel they stole from Ingrid.
"Is that supposed to impress me?" Arthur asked, his frown
stuck on his face. "It's what we've been trying to get back for
the longest, well guess what? I did a favor." Mickie said as the
two ladies entered the facility. The large door slowly shut behind
them as they began their trek down the nearest hall. "You went
on an unauthorized, suicide mission, with taking our tech without
permission!" Arthur exclaimed angrily. "Okay, so when you
say tech; are you referring to me?" Natalia asked. Her question
was ignored. Mickie stopped walking and angrily turned towards Arthur
"You know Arthur, I get it, you're the boss and all and you've
been putting me down since you recruited me so now that I got what
we've been trying to get back for the past few months, I'd like some
damn credit!" Mickie shouted. "As for our fresh new tech,
the idea for creating a Nano-powered cyborg being from the fucking
dead, was from my imaginary brain. I put the pieces together and
solved a puzzle that defies all logic so a little recognition would
go a long fucking way!" Mickie then took off angrily down the
hall and Natalia followed. The two ladies entered the central
laboratory. "Get on the exam bed, I have to repair you."
Mickie said. "I can't heal on my own anymore?" Natalia
asked. "You aren't full human anymore, you need to be serviced,
or service yourself or you'll suffer some serious problems."
"What
the hell was that?!" Venus scowled as she stood angrily in front
of the large window wall, Natalia and Mickie jumped out of. Standing
in front of her were three of her elite soldiers. Their purpose was
to post the guards in their respective areas of the Ingrid Facility,
and in emergency, they would hash out the orders to secure the area.
That wasn't the case as they just lost a valuable piece of equipment
to the people they stole it from; Chrome Tech. "Whatever
training you three had, was crap! Those two came in here and shut us
down!" Venus screamed. Her middle aged face wore a strong frown.
Her green hair was frizzed out and she had some blood on her face
after her confrontation with the Chrome Tech agents. "Haylee X!"
Venus called. "Yes!" The only female elite guard replied.
Haylee X was a very well trained agent with immense fighting skills
and in her experience, she's displayed what she could do very well.
"As busy as I was, trying to handle the intruders; I did not see
you, at all." Venus said. "I was in the underground lab,
assessing the cyborgs down there." Haylee X explained. "Are
you aware that the cyborgs are completely useless without Nano
Diamond tech we stole?" "I'm not aware of that."
"Well, now you are and it is now your job to retrieve that tech
so we can complete our initiative." Venus said. "All of
you, prep and go, and do not return until the job is done!"
Venus screamed angrily before she stormed off. Haylee X looked at the
two other that surrounded her. On her left was Xurge, a tall muscular
man with a mo hawk. He had a belt of machine gun rounds over his
chest with a M240 machine gun on his back. On her right was a short
individual by the name of Kratex. He had two machetes on his back and
he had long dreads that fell over his menacing blades and down to his
lower back. "So what? We're just going to barge up in Chrome
Tech?" Kratex asked. "That's exactly what Venus wants us to
do." Xurge said. "They have a true, living cyborg there;
that's going to make things complicated."”Well they have one,
there are three of us." "So are we just stealing the tech
back or are we adding sabotage to the menu?" Haylee X asked as
they began a walk to the stairs, being that the elevator was blown
up. "To prevent this little game of chess, I suggest we sabotage
all of Chrome Tech." Xurge suggested. "Venus would be
pleased." The three entered a large training simulation room and
removed their weapons and armor. As the males were down to tank tops,
Haylee X was down to a sports bra. Haylee X's eyes met Xurge's.
"Staring problem?" she asked. "I have to stare before
we start training, it's the only time they are at a stand still."
Xurge joked. Kratex stepped in between them. "Are we done acting
sophomoric, or are we going to clash fists?" he said. The three
stood in a triangle formation and got into a fighting stance. Haylee
X threw the first strike in Xurge's direction but he dodged it with a
back flip. At that Kratex came forward at Haylee X with a front kick,
knocking her off her feet. Xurge leaped forward, with a spin kick but
Kratex ducked and as Xurge turned around to face him, the two engaged
in lightning fast hand-to-hand combat. Both of them sent out blows,
and each shot they sent out, they blocked it, displaying incredible
feats of agility, evenly matched. Haylee X intervened and drop kicked
both of them and continued hopping at them with gymnastic-like
acrobatics. She arm dragged Xurge far across the simulation room,
leaving her face to face with the stern and serious Kratex. "I'm
not going to take it easy on you." he said as he sent out a
series of punches towards Haylee X's midsection but the always ready,
Haylee X telegraphed it, and blocked his punches with ease. "Is
that what you think I want?" she asked. She then flipped her
legs around Kratex's neck, then she sat her torso up, making her face
meet his. She sent hard punches to Kratex's face then she launched
herself off of him with a high back flip. As she landed on her feet
in an aggressive stance, Xurge grabbed her tightly from behind. He
sent a hay-maker across the side of her head, knocking her hard to
the floor. Xurge confronted Kratex once more and engaged in a
trade-off of powerful kicks, and as their legs connected to each
others, they displayed no sign of pain. Suddenly, Haylee X popped
back into the brawl and the three were fiercely throwing shots at one
another without a single sign of fatigue. If this wasn't a sign of
their readiness, then what else could show that? They were fast,
strong, and their fighting skills were beyond the skills of a highly
trained mixed martial artist. Natalia was a cyborg, but these three
were highly trained cyborgs. Now that their plan was set, their
attack for Chrome Tech wasn't just a capture, it was an sabotage
mission; destroy everything!
Arthur
sat in his office, at his nice desk. He scribbled deeply into some
forms that sat in front of him. His blank computer screen sat just
inches across from him. It blinked on, and a video feed popped up.
There on the computer screen was Venus; Chairwoman of Ingrid. "Well
done Arthur, you managed to get back the rock you claim you created."
she said with a devilish smile. "I can't figure out the reason
why you'd think that's false." Arthur replied. Venus gutted a
laugh. "During the span I had possession of the diamond, I ran
some tests and that rock seemed a bit other worldly; which gives me
the reason to believe you stumbled upon this revolutionary
phenomenon." Venus explained. "So what's the point of you
contacting me?"Arthur asked impatiently. "This is a message
to not just you, but your entire facility." Venus started. "I
have three operatives headed to your puny fucking factory, to get
back what was ours." "So you believe in the whole finder's
keepers rule?" Arthur replied. "Joke if you will, the three
operatives are deadly, highly trained. I really hope your robo-girl
is ready to defend you all." Venus threatened. The video feed
then shut off. Arthur shot up angrily from his seat and power walked
to the main lab where Mickie was repairing Natalia. He walked up
close to the short woman. "We need to talk." he said lowly.
"Sit tight." Mickie sighed. Mickie and Arthur strolled over
to the far corner of the lab. "They're coming for us."
Arthur started. "Who?"Mickie asked. "Venus." "Oh,
game time." Mickie chuckled. "This is not a game!"
Arthur angrily shouted. "What is your damn problem; why are you
getting so bent out of shape!?" "You are going to be the
reason for us to be destroyed!" "I think you're
over-exaggerating Arthur." "And I think you're done here!"
Arthur shouted. "What?" "Grab your things and leave
Mickie." Arthur said coldly. "I've been here for a long
time, scratching and clawing, through disputes and wars from all
directions and now because of something good I've done for this damn
place, you're kicking me out?" Mickie asked. "We'll have
someone fly you back to Vermont." Arthur said. Mickie walked off
through the lab. "Everything okay?" Natalia asked as she
was sitting on the examination bed. "Nice knowing you Nat; take
care." Mickie said walking out of the lab. Arthur came up to
Natalia. "I'm going to be straight forward; you won't be seeing
Mickie anymore." "Wait why?" Natalia asked. "This
mission that you went on with her was a complete suicide operation,
and she has endangered us completely. "
Arthur said. A dark skinned man walked into the lab. "Sir,
Mickie has boarded one of our jets back to the states." he said.
"Good to go. Natalia, this is Reginald and he will be taking
over your maintenance." Arthur informed. The boss exited the lab
and retreated back to his office. "Call me Reggie." the man
said. "OK." Natalia said. "So where did Mickie leave
off at?" he asked as they walked over to the tools. "She
was just finishing up my forearm." Natalia said. Reggie
continued on the repairs that Mickie left off, all the way to
midnight. "It sucks I am unable to sleep." Natalia said as
she realized what time it was. "It's so you're ready at all
times." "I understand that but I just don't feel human
anymore." "We can't do anything about that; Somehow you
still possess emotion." "Wait what?" Natalia said
confused. "We originally built you to possess a personality
similar to that of a mindless drone, somehow your mind bypassed the
technology and you retained your emotions and memories." Reggie
explained. "Anyways, you should get to know some of the people
here, they're the reason you're alive again."
